WALLACE CHAN at the Paris Biennale

One of my favourite contemporary Artist-jeweller will be exhibiting next month at the Paris Biennale des Antiquaires; Wallace Chan. Based in Hong Kong, he created the wallace cut, was one of there ones to use titanium in fine jewellery, he is also a master in stone carving but his most surprising feature is the fact that he had his first exhibition at the Basle Art Fair. His designs are so unique and accomplished that he is already an icon in Asian Haute Jewellery. The piece above is called "Fish's Dream and it is set with a large carved amethyst, fancy diamonds and sapphires, pearls, mother of pearl and opals. The piece below, "Fluttery", is set with a Tanzanite and diamonds, green garnets and fancy sapphires.

"I don't want to just create jewelry that features a lot of expensive stones set in an appealing way. I want dramatic pieces, jewelry that never ceases to amaze the beholder with newly discovered elements, different sensations and delightful montage effects that add to the special story of each of my pieces."
