CARTIER Art Deco Jabot-pin brooches

Jabot-pin brooches were very popular in the 1920's. They were worn both by men and women in ties and blouse bosoms. Completely out of fashion today as such adornments, they are still beautiful pieces of jewellery to wear on suits, dresses or specially on the hair.

The one above, made by Cartier is set with carved rubies, onix and diamonds. I particularly like the black enamel lines that accentuate the geometry of the design.

The one below, also made by Cartier, is the all diamond version of it with a central briolette cut stone. Both will be auctioned at Sotheby's Geneva on May 17th.
