An african inspired Moretto by... CARTIER!
This is a most unusual piece!, a blackmoor (or Moretto) brooch made by Cartier in the 1950's. Moretto brooches are sought after by collectors and most of them are made by Nardi, but this one can be a rare addition. Cartier has made this one, clearly inspired in Africa, out of a carved black coral piece for the head which is adorned with a leopard made of gold and black enamel with emerald eyes. The diamond and turquoise earrings just add the final exotic touch!.
The brooch will be auctioned by Sotheby's Geneva next May 17th.
