A 1935 diamond bracelet by MELLERIO

Mellerio dits Meller was founded in1613 and they pride themselves of being the oldest family company in Europe. Fourteen generations of artists uninterrupted provide this brand with one of the richest archives available, as well as with irreplaceable tradition. The Mellerio family has its origins in Italy but they were one of the first Maisons to open an establishment on Rue de la Paix in Paris in 1815. Other branches would be open along the main royal courts in Europe like Vienna and Madrid. Considered one of the finest jewellery makers of their time they became providers to Royal Families worldwide, specially in France where their creations for Marie Antoinette and Eugenia de Montijo were renowned.

This bracelet was created in 1935 and it is signed Melleio Hos Madrid. It is a beautiful evening piece set with pave diamonds in an intricate floral and curved pattern in the bold statement jewellery style that would attract the Hollywood stars of the 1940's.

It will be auctioned by Sotheby's Geneva on May 17th.
